A former salon in one of Edinburgh's plushest neighbourhoods is set to be turned into a bakery this summer.
We previously reported in December how Gorgeous Therapies, in Stockbridge, was set to become Lannan bakery, following a planning application submitted to the council.
Recently, it was announced that owner and self-taught baker Darcie Maher plans to open her first store in July following an extensive renovation. Darcie is set to make the switch from The Palmerston in the west end where she picked up a knack for baking and gained a cult following for her creative pastries.

The bakery, which will also have its own stand-alone shop attached at a later date, will be primarily take-away only, but customers may also use benches located outside on a warm sunny day.
The name Lannan also derives from the Scottish Gaelic for 'house'. According to Darcie, the menu will change every week to accommodate many of her speciality products including classic viennoiserie to custard slices.
Traditional favourites such as yum yums and iced buns will also be available, with with limited-run creations using local and seasonal produce including lemon meringue tarts, dauphinois pastries and crème brûlée danishes.
On the savoury side, there will also be hand pies and pala romana sandwiches using charcuterie and cheese from I.J. Mellis and The Ham & Cheese Co., and coffee will come from local roastery Obadiah.
Curious customers will also be able to catch a glimpse of the action thanks for an expansive counter utilised as the centrepiece of the ground floor unit. The bakery will initially open Thursday to Sunday, 8:30am to sell out.
