Select your Leeds United XI for Southampton clash as four key players set to return

Leeds United will be looking to build on their opening day victory against Wolves when they travel to Southampton on Saturday. The Whites defeated Bruno Lage’s side 2-1 at Elland Road thanks to Rodrigo Moreno and an own goal from Rayan Ait Nouri.

Jesse Marsch could welcome back three fresh faces into the squad for the trip to the South Coast. He confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Luis Sinisterra, Liam Cooper and Adam Forshaw have all been in training this week and are set to be available for selection at St. Mary’s.

That said, Marsch is likely to name an unchanged team for the clash with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, starting with Illan Meslier in goal. Despite Cooper’s return, Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk look set to make up the back four.

After some positive signs in pre-season and against Wolves, Marc Roca and Tyler Adams will start in the centre of midfield, though Forshaw could provide Marsch with another option off the bench. Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison are likely to be the preferred trio behind the striker again, even with Daniel James returning from suspension and Sinisterra potentially coming into the squad.

After captaining the side in a competitive match for the first time last weekend, Patrick Bamford will be tasked with leading the line, though Joe Gelhardt will continue to push for an opportunity. Using our widget below, let us know how you think Marsch should line-up against the Saints.
