See inside glamorous new Quayside restaurant loved by Wayne Rooney as it get set to open in Newcastle

A stunning new restaurant and bar favoured by Wayne Rooney is set to open on the Newcastle Quayside this week.

Victors has taken over the former Las Iguanas venue to offer diners a modern Asian and American-inspired menu in picture-perfect surroundings. The chain, which is the first in the North East, has already earned a reputation as a "celeb haunt" attracting the likes of Wayne Rooney and The Real Housewives of Cheshire to its branches across the UK.

Now, Victors Newcastle is getting set to welcome its first customers through the door at 5pm on Friday, July 15. Featuring coastal-inspired decor and beautiful wisteria trees that hang from the ceiling, the new restaurant is set to be a dream location for Instagram fans.

Diners will also be able to take advantage of its large outside seating area during the hot weather as they enjoy coffee, cocktails, lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch.

Jan Coker, sales and reservations manager at Victors, said: "Victors is inspired by the New York Hamptons. It is Japanese-fusion Asian food and it has a sexy, vibrant, style that we think the people of Newcastle are going to love and enjoy.

"There is nowhere else like it so it is something that people will be excited for. Diners can expect vibrant dishes that are freshly cooked and beautiful cocktails.

"It is an upscale venue that is still affordable and you get beautiful service along with it. There are plenty of spots for those perfect Instagram photos."

The opening follows the success of the three Victors restaurants in Alderley Edge, Hale and Oxford, and has created 50 new jobs. To celebrate its launch, the restaurant has also committed to raising £5,000 for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) based at the city's Freeman Hospital through two charity nights this week.
