'Hidden' codes on tags in TK Maxx stores that can help customers find the best bargains have been shared online. Taking to TikTok, a member of the popular bargains website HotUKDeals uploaded a video explaining a 'secret' way shoppers can check for the best prices for designer and own brand products in stores.
In the clip, revealed the single-digit codes which are located above the size on the tag of the product. Explaining what they mean, Becks at HotUKDeals said: "I'm going to show you what the secret TK Maxx codes mean and the trick is all to do with the label and some specific numbers.
"You want to look for a two or a seven for the best of the best. One are usually outlet goods which aren't usually the best deals, two are usually heavily reduced and usually leftover stock and seven are designer and part of the brand's pre collection."

She shared the 'secret' codes while filming inside a TK Maxx store. Pointing out the number seven on a tag on a Lacoste jacket, she added: "So this Lacoste puffer coat has a number seven just above the size which means you've found a designer product that's been reduced from £365 to 119.99."
As reported by the Mirror, the bargain hunter then showed the number two on a gym item, stating: "This Gym King top is marked a two, which means it's reduced heavily, and in this case half price." In the caption of the video, Becks wrote: "TKMaxx secret codes UNLOCKED, find out what the top two numbers are to look for on a label to grab the best bargains shop like a spy."
The official TikTok account for TK Maxx even commented on the video - which is now the top comment. "Shhh, don't tell them our secrets," the comment reads. Becks replied: "Oopsie... The people need to know!"
Many others were wowed by the little-known codes and thanked Becks for sharing. A user named Donna posted: "Nice one, thanks!" Zaynah added: "Very helpful!" AJ admitted: "As someone who worked here for 4 years I didn’t know this."
Former TK Maxx employee Daniel Baker previously revealed that two is the number you want to look out for. Speaking in a Channel 5 documentary looking at the chain's marketing tricks, he revealed: "The number that is really exciting to a customer is number two." That means the item is "genuine excess stock" that was sold at a higher price somewhere else, so you've nabbed a good deal.
