A second man has died following another incident at a Lanarkshire tower block.
We told on Friday how emergency services raced to the scene on the busy Almada Street just after 3.30pm due to an ongoing police incident after a man 'fell' from the Almada Tower building.
Police today confimed that a second man had passed away at the tower block - just two days after the first.
Officers were called to the scene just before 9pm on Sunday night with a police cordon put in place.
Almada Street and surrounding streets were once again closed off to the public with the roads re-opening in the early hours of Monday morning.
The incidents are not thought to be linked in anyway.
Both deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told Lanarkshire Live : “Around 3.35pm on Friday, October 21, a 35-year-old man fell from a building in Almada Street, Hamilton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The spokesperson continued: “We were made aware of the sudden death of a man on Almada Street in Hamilton shortly before 9pm on Sunday, October 23.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
