Second man charged over alleged scooter store thefts

A second man has been charged in relation to an alleged series of targeted thefts, including scooters, in Canberra.

ACT Policing in a statement this weekend said, about 8.30pm on March 31, police went to an Amaroo residence and arrested the 32-year-old.

He has been charged with two counts of riding a motor vehicle without consent, aggravated burglary, theft and making off without payment.

The man is now before the ACT Magistrates Court.

"Police believe there are others involved in these incidents and an investigation is ongoing," the police statement said.

The investigation includes officers from numerous teams, including AFP Forensics and digital and video operations.

The arrest comes after a Kambah man was charged in March with multiple vehicle thefts, burglaries and other offences after police found him allegedly riding a stolen e-scooter.

Police allege the man committed a series of burglaries at commercial premises in the ACT dating back to February 10 this year.
