A second major retailer is set to pull out of one of Ayrshire's most popular shopping centres.
Ayrshire Live understands that footwear giant Clarks will be next to close within Ayr Central.
Customers have been told that the shop - one of the staples of the town centre sites - will close next week.
It comes just days after jewellers Ernest Jones pulled the shutters down and confirmed they were moving to a new unit in Glasgow's Silverburn shopping centre.
We can reveal that Clarks is now the next store on the move, but bosses at the footwear specialist have remained tight-lipped on plans.
Customers have been told that the store will close next Thursday.
A spokesperson for Ayr Central confirmed that they were aware Clarks was going to close but added: "We'll be fully active in back filling that space like we have at other empty units."
Clarks were contacted for comment.
