The second injury report for the Washington Commanders was released Thursday and contained a new name. Starting linebacker Cole Holcomb was limited with a calf injury. Holcomb played every defensive snap in Week 1.
Guard Wes Schweitzer did not practice again Thursday. Schweitzer injured his hamstring in Week 1. Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen [groin], safety Kam Curl [thumb] and guard Trai Turner [quad] joined Holcomb as limited participants.
Linebacker Jamin Davis and tight end Cole Turner participated fully Thursday.
Things look a bit worse for this week’s opponent, the Detroit Lions. Starting running back D’Andre Swift and center Frank Ragnow each missed practice. Guard Jonah Jackson, who was limited Wednesday, also missed Thursday.
In some good news for the Lions left tackle Taylor Decker and defensive tackle Michael Brockers returned after missing Wednesday’s practice.
Starting cornerback Amani Oruwariye injured his back and was limited, joining safety Ifeatu Melifonwu.
Swift and Ragnow are the biggest concerns for the Lions, but it sounds like Swift is in no danger of missing Sunday’s game.
