The first injury report for Week 4 didn’t look too encouraging for the Washington Commanders. Left tackle Charles Leno and center/guard Wes Schweitzer missed practice Wednesday, while several others were limited.
On Thursday, things improved somewhat as Leno practiced on a limited basis as he deals with a shoulder injury. Head coach Ron Rivera isn’t concerned with Leno.
“No concern,” Rivera said. “He came in sore yesterday, so we just figured it would be a good day to give him a vet day.”
Schweitzer, a longtime guard, started at center last week in place of the injured Chase Roullier. He is in concussion protocol. If Schweitzer is unable to play Sunday, veteran Nick Martin would likely start at center for the Commanders.
Limited for Washington on Thursday were defensive end James Smith-Williams [abdomen], linebacker Milo Eifler [ankle] and Leno.
Offensive tackles Sam Cosmi and Saahdiq Charles, cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, defensive end Casey Toohill and defensive tackle Daniel Wise all participated fully after being limited Wednesday.
Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott missed practice Thursday, but that’s no surprise. Prescott is targeting a Week 5 return.
Safety Jayron Kearse, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, guard Connor McGovern and tight end Dalton Schultz were all limited for the Cowboys.
