Second chartered evacuation flight to UK expected to depart Oman tonight

  • The UK's second chartered flight to evacuate British nationals from the Middle East is expected to depart tonight.
  • This follows the first flight which landed in the early hours of Friday morning, after being delayed from Wednesday evening.
  • Downing Street confirmed that the next chartered flight is scheduled to take off from Oman on Friday evening, with further flights planned.
  • On Thursday, ten flights from the UAE transported over 3,400 people to the UK.
  • British Airways has also introduced daily commercial flights from Muscat to meet the demand for travel.
