While addressing a plethora of topics, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey offered an intriguing prediction ahead of Saturday’s Big Ten championship game between No. 2 Michigan and No. 18 Iowa.
While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, Sankey wildly shared that he believes the Hawkeyes will dig deep into their bags of tricks in order to pull up the massive upset over the Wolverines.
“I’m certain, I’m convinced, that Iowa has a big bag of offensive tricks for tomorrow,” said Sankey. “I think they’ve been saving it all year. The defense is specialized, finely-tuned. I think it’s going to be a big bag of offensive tricks.”
The Hawkeyes, who are 22-point underdogs in Saturday’s title game, are not being given much of a chance to emerge victorious by Vegas oddsmakers.
On the other side of the ball, Michigan owns the nation’s 2nd best defense, behind only Penn State, surrendering just 246.8 yards per game.
Sankey is hoping that a massive upset by Iowa would result in the SEC shockingly getting both No. 1 Georgia and No. 8 Alabama into the College Football Playoff.
