Markets regulator Sebi has barred former Axis Mutual Fund chief dealer Viresh Joshi and Dubai-based trader Prijesh Kurani from the securities market for seven years in a front-running case involving trades of Axis Mutual Fund.
The regulator also directed that Rs 30.56 crore already impounded in the matter be treated as disgorgement and transferred to the Investor Protection and Education Fund. The noticees have also been asked to pay 12% annual interest on the unlawful gains from the end of the investigation period until the date of deposit.
