Sebastian Stan has teased his upcoming role in The Batman 2, and it has DC fans wondering if he's actually playing another character in the film.
Speaking to Deadline about the DC movie, Stan said he'll play "many roles in this one," and also indicated that he'll be filming in London over summer.
"I'm excited, I'm nervous and trying to keep surprising myself," he added, which Deadline says is "of taking on Two-Face and working with the hair and makeup teams who have devised how his disfigurement will look."
On Twitter, though, DC fans aren't convinced that Stan will actually be playing Harvey Dent. "what if he's actually playing Thomas Elliot" asks one person, referring to the real name of Hush, a Batman villain who gets plastic surgery to look like Bruce Wayne and embarks on a mission to ruin his life.
"Ok soooo.... either Hush or still Harvey Dent...." says someone else. "I think they're going to merge Harvey Dent and Hush into Two-Face and lean heavily on the split personality disorder," theorizes another fan. "So Sebastian Stan will be playing Harvey Dent but he'll also be playing Thomas Elliott as his other personality where he is Hush."
"Tommy Elliot incoming???????" guesses another person. "He gotta be playing Hush right?" says yet another fan.
It wouldn't be a massive shock if Harvey Dent appeared in the film – in the first Batman movie, when Bruce was learning about his parents' corruption, the words "HUSH MONEY" flashed up onscreen, which seems like a pretty big hint to us.
But, Stan might simply be referring to playing many different sides of Harvey Dent, which, again, wouldn't be a huge surprise, considering Two-Face and pre-villainy Harvey are completely different.
The Batman 2 arrives this October 1. In the meantime, check out our guide to all the upcoming DC movies and shows for everything else the DCU has in store.
