The statement said: "Due to the discovery of a body in County Galway on Friday, April 7 2023, the missing person appeal for Mark Milmo has been stood down.
"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance. No further information is available at this time."
Gardaí said that at the time of his disappearance, Mark, who was last seen in Loughrea town, had brown hair and brown eyes and was approximately 6 feet in height with a strong build.
They had also released a statement that stated Mark's family were concerned for his welfare as they appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
