Police are searching for the driver of a BMW car after a crash.
Officers were called to reports of a black BMW crashing into bollards on Coastal Road, Southport, at around 2.30am on Thursday, February 9. Emergency services attended and the driver left the scene.
The road was closed while recovery work of the car took place. Six hours later the car was removed from the road and it reopened to motorists.

Police have now confirmed that they are investigating and enquires are ongoing to find the driver of the car.
A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision on the Coastal Road, in Southport, earlier this morning (Thursday 9 February). At around 2.30am, it was reported that a black BMW had collided with a number of bollards.
"When emergency services arrived at the scene, the driver had fled the area. The BMW has now been removed and the road has reopened. Our enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver."
