UFC main events continued to be unkind to Kevin Holland on Saturday when he came up short against Stephen Thompson at UFC on ESPN 42.
Holland (23-9 MMA, 9-6 UFC) remains winless in three octagon headliners after a hand injury helped lead to a fourth-round corner stoppage TKO win for Thompson (17-6-1 MMA, 12-6-1 UFC) at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
It’s suddenly back-to-back losses for Holland, who once again showed the struggles he can have when his opponent is ahead in a fight.
