Sean McVay has a new title besides being the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams. He’s now a father.
The Rams announced on social media Wednesday that the newest member of the McVay family, Jordan John, has arrived. McVay said in his press conference that Jordan was born on Tuesday and everything went smoothly.
“Had our little boy yesterday. Jordan John McVay. Mom and baby are doing good and ready to get back at it. She gets ready to take care of all the fun stuff right now. No, what a blessing. What a cool thing,” he said.
McVay was confident his son wouldn’t be born during a Rams game, even joking that he “knows better than to come during the game.” Everything appears to have gone according to plan, with the little guy arriving this week between the Rams’ games against the Steelers and Cowboys.

McVay honored his grandfather, former Giants coach and 49ers general manager John McVay, with his son’s middle name, John.
His grandfather passed away on Halloween last year, and McVay said it’s eerie because his son’s original due date was Oct. 31 this year.
“If you don’t believe in a higher power, there’s certain things that occur that, man, you realize there’s something special going on,” he said. “I thought that was only appropriate to have his middle name after my grandfather. His legacy lives on and I know he’s looking down smiling with what occurred yesterday. It meant a lot.”
Sean McVay confirmed his son's middle name is after his late grandfather John.
"It's kind of eerie how things work out. His original due date was when my grandfather passed a year ago on the 31st, which is pretty special." https://t.co/nzSQPzcY9r
