Sean Dyche has revealed he is a Liverpool fan and shared how he met Kenny Dalglish in ‘bizarre circumstances’.
Dyche has been out of work since being sacked by Burnley in April after 10 years at Turf Moor. The Clarets ended up getting relegated on the final day, losing against Newcastle United while Leeds beat Brentford.
The 51-year-old - who grew up in Kettering, some 150 miles south-east of Liverpool - admitted he supported the Reds from a distance, watching the teams of Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley which included the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Ian Callaghan and Kevin Keegan. Dyche will no doubt have met most of his former heroes during his time in management, but it was a ‘bizarre’ meeting with King Kenny that stays in his mind to this day.
