Federal agents intercepted Sean “Diddy” Combs' private jet on Monday and detained his alleged drug mule. The rapper, 54, was seen surrounded by law enforcement officers on the tarmac at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. Combs' associate Brendan Paul, 25, was also present and later arrested on drug charges.
Paul was booked on counts of possession of suspected cocaine and possession of suspected marijuana candy. He posted bail and was released. A source clarified that Paul's arrest was unrelated to Combs and dismissed the notion that he was a drug mule.
In a statement, Combs' lawyer criticized the investigation, citing an alleged overuse of force during search warrants executed at Combs' residences in Miami and Los Angeles. The lawyer called it a 'witch hunt' based on meritless accusations from civil lawsuits.
Combs has faced multiple sexual assault claims since his ex-girlfriend Cassie's lawsuit in November 2023. Combs has denied all allegations through his lawyer, who labeled the civil suits as 'money grabs' and 'baseless and outrageous.'
Notably, Cassie reached a settlement with Combs 24 hours after filing her lawsuit. Her lawyer expressed hope that the raids would hold Combs accountable for his actions.
The investigation's connection to Cassie or other accusers' lawsuits remains unclear. Despite media speculation, Combs and his family members have not been arrested, and their travel has not been restricted.
