Sean Connery's wife Micheline organised a sweet send off for the star to mark what would have been his 92nd birthday.
The 93-year-old widow was joined by other members of the actor's family as they travelled around Scotland scattering his ashes. The celebration of the James Bond star's life saw family members attend a lavish event at the Dalmeny Estate near Edinburgh.
It's thought they had spent the last three days spreading his ashes across a number of his favourite spots in the country. They are said to have boarded a privately hired Royal Scotsman train which is owned by the Louis Vuitton group.
A source told the Daily Record : “I couldn’t believe it when I saw Micheline and her party step off the train. A trombonist began playing the famous song (King of the Swingers) from the Jungle Book. Micheline walked very slowly arm in arm with a relative to her waiting car.
"She was small and petite but very, very glamorous and she was dressed in a beige cream coloured outfit as if she were going to a wedding. Everyone had on some sort of tartan."
They continued to say they had been informed that the family had been scattering the ashes of Sean before building up to their final destination which was Edinburgh and Dalmeny yesterday.
"I thought it was brilliant to see the old-fashioned train and I felt like I was in some sort of movie scene," they added. "It was all so secretive because it’s all about Sir Sean’s final resting place.”
It's said there was approximately 50 people in the group wearing tartan and colourful dresses. Among those reportedly attending the secret gathering was Sean's granddaughter Saskia, his son Jason and his pal Alex Salmond.
Sean died in October 2020 and a charity set up in his name continues to raise funds for good causes both in Scotland and the star's adopted home in the Bahamas.
