Sealy’s Posturepedic mattresses are some of the best beds for relieving aches and pain, and now the brand has added two new luxury mattresses to its line-up. The Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Platinum range will launch with two new models – the Extravagance and the Renaissance, exclusively sold at Bensons for Beds.
Like many of the top-rated beds in our best mattress guide for all sleepers, these new additions are hybrids, using a combination of foams and coils to provide comfort and support to sleepers.
Release Date: October 2024
Type: Hybrid
Sizes: 3 (per model)
The mattresses use Sealy’s proprietary RestSUPPORT Coil, which was developed with the Orthopaedic Advisory Board to ensure perfect spinal support, along with a latex core for superior pressure relief. Latex is also naturally breathable and hypoallergenic, so this mattress should help keep temperatures regulated overnight, as well as being a good fit for those with allergens.
As part of Sealy’s premium collection, these mattresses are in the luxury price bracket. Only available in three sizes (double, king, super king) the Renaissance starts at £3,999.99 and the Extravagance at £4,399.99. Let’s look at the mattresses in a little more detail…
Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Platinum Mattresses: Price
As you might expect from the name, the new Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Platinum Mattresses are in the premium price bracket. Using high-end materials and technology, the mattresses will be sold in selected Bensons for Beds stores as well as online from the 16th October. These are the prices for each model and size:
Renaissance:
Double: £3,999.99
King: £4,399.99
Super King: £5,699.99
Extravagance:
Double: £4,399.99
King: £4,799.99
Super King: £6,299.99
Reductions and sales on these mattresses are unlikely to appear for a little while as these beds are brand new. But discounts will inevitably be tied to those on the Bensons for Beds website and good deals do appear regularly (for instance, there’s currently 15% off mattresses when you spend over £650). The upcoming Black Friday mattress sales at the end of November could also give you a chance to pick up these mattresses for less.
Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite Platinum Mattresses: Features
As with all beds in the Posturepedic range, the focus of both the Renaissance and Extravagance models is on providing superior lumbar support for perfect spinal alignment. Posturepedic beds are specifically designed to help sleepers ease back and joint pain, and we’d expect the new models to do the same.
The Exquisite Platinum range uses RestSUPPORT spring technology, which Sealy says provides 4% more support and 17% more pressure relief than its previous AlignSUPPORT coil system. The coil system was developed in conjunction with biomechanical engineers from the Orthopaedic Advisory Board and is designed to adapt to the body’s contours. This should help to keep sleepers’ spines aligned and supported.
The coils are combined with a Graphite Latex ComfortCore, which sits in the central third of the mattress. Latex is particularly good at providing pressure relief and by zoning the material to the middle of the bed, it can offer targeted lumbar support along with pain relief to the hips and lower back.
Latex is naturally breathable and this, combined with the coils, should ensure that sleepers don’t overheat at night. With multiple comfort layers, the new Exquisite Platinum mattresses will also feature micro pockets for more contouring, along with a pillowtop finish to provide cushioning to the pressure points.
