The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions.
In what started as a defensive battle in Santa Clara, Calif., Seattle refused to break. While the Patriots would eventually get on the board and give the Seahawks a brief scare, ultimately it was the Seattle defense that would put the nail in the coffin, with linebacker Uchenna Nwosu picking off Drake Maye and running it back for a touchdown. There was more time left on the clock, but in that moment, the final result was cemented. When the clock hit zero, it was Seahawks 29, Patriots 13.
In between the slug fest, Bad Bunny put on one hell of a show and Cris Collinsworth was once left at a loss for words.
Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano was providing live updates throughout the game, and has now handed the keys over to me, Tyler Lauletta, to write through the postgame bliss.
Congratulations Seattle. How long until Week 1?
