The Seattle Seahawks may have concluded the 2023 NFL draft but it certainly is not stopping them from making more player transactions. This time, the Seahawks did not have to look very far to bring in a new player to the organization.
On Monday it was reported by Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston that Seattle was signing defensive lineman Austin Faoliu. For those who followed the XFL this year, the name should sound familiar as he was a member of the Seattle Sea Dragons.

Faoliu recorded 24 total tackles – two for a loss 0 – and a sack in the re-rebooted XFL season. The Sea Dragons qualified for the postseason but fell to the DC Defenders for a third time. Faoliu was also an Oregon Duck who had 113 total tackles and six sacks during his time in Eugene.
Faoliu’s signing signifies the real value of the XFL. Sure, it’s great to watch quality football in the spring to feed our collective addiction to the sport, but it can also provide a great avenue for players right on the NFL bubble to show the league they deserve another shot. As of right now, Faoliu is getting his with another Seattle based team.
