Last season, the NFC West sent two teams to the playoffs. The Los Angeles Rams returned after a one-year absense, and lost in the Wild Card round. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers won the division once more and returned to the Super Bowl for yet another loss. The two NFC West teams left on the outside looking in were the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals.
According to Bleacher Report, they have them sitting out another postseason.
Bleacher Report recently went through each division to pick the last place team, as well as project the standings/records for each of the other teams in the division. For the NFC West, here is how they project 2024 going:
- San Francisco 49ers 11-6
- Los Angeles Rams 9-8
- Seattle Seahawks 7-10
- Arizona Cardinals 6-11
Interestingly, if this holds true, the last place Cardinals will be the only team in the division to increase their win total, as Arizona only won four games last season.
As for the Seahawks, once again, a national media publication is seemingly writing them off. Bleacher Report is only giving Seattle an edge over Arizona because of their defense, of all units. While they are putting stock into Mike Macdonald being able to turn the defense around a bit, in my opinion seven wins still feels too low for a team with a roster this talented.
All answers will be discovered this fall, once the games start kicking off.
