It goes without saying at this point that the Seattle Seahawks have stunned just about everyone with their performance this year, thanks to a resurgent campaign from MVP-candidate-quarterback Geno Smith, excellent coaching, and a draft class that already looks like a grand slam.
That rookie group is so good, in fact, it just claimed NFL Rookie of the Month honors for October on both sides of the ball.
Running back Kenneth Walker III (second round) and cornerback Tariq Woolen (fifth round), took home the honors Thursday after turning in stellar performances over the past month.
It’s clear that this rookie class is a legitimate threat to push for the Rookie of the Year awards as the season winds down, with Walker being one of the most productive backs in the NFL since filling in for an injured Rashaad Penny, and Woolen dominating No. 1 receivers and tying for the league lead in interceptions.
Their continued growth will be key for Seattle’s push for a shocking playoff run alongside Smith, who was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month, as they look to show they are clearly the best rookie class in recent memory.
