At the moment, the Seahawks are still deciding who their starting quarterback will be this season. And between Drew Lock and Geno Smith, it’s not exactly a scintillating position battle that inspires much hope in the Pacific Northwest.
The eventual choice will, of course, be left up to long-time head coach Pete Carroll. And as the preseason nears its end, the 70-year-old appears to be having the time of his life. Earlier this month, he ran sprints during the early part of Seahawks training camp. On Wednesday, he showed off his gunslinger arm as a scout-team quarterback for Seattle.
And yes — he can throw the ball over the mountains:

Honestly, Carroll doesn’t look half bad there. Nice dropback. Decisive. A tight throwing motion. What more can you ask for? It’s honestly an impressive look as he goes through his reads. Carroll certainly won’t be playing quarterback for the Seahawks, but it does potentially make one wonder what would be possible if he was a few decades younger.
NFL fans had lots of thoughts about Carroll's cameo at scout team QB

I knew Seattle's QB situation was going to look pretty rough after trading Russell Wilson but I didn't think it'd be quite this bad https://t.co/MAErItwgN3

When Pete Carroll said the #Seahawks had two #1 QB's, was he talking about himself?
