Seahawks announce 4 roster moves going into Week 10 game

The Seattle Seahawks announced four roster moves on Saturday that will impact today’s game against the Washington Commanders.

Here’s a quick review of yesterday’s transactions.

Activated from IR: WR Dareke Young

Second-year wide receiver Dareke Young suffered a hip injury before the preseason began and was placed on injured reserve. Young has now been activated to the 53-man roster. He will mostly put in time on special teams but he might also take over whatever limited offensive duties Dee Eskridge may have had.

Activated from IR: RB Kenny McIntosh

Rookie running back Kenny McIntosh was injured around the same time and has also been on IR ever since. Now that he’s been activated it should be interesting to see how Seattle uses him. With DeeJay Dallas limited by ankle and quad injuries McIntosh may take over as the third RB on the depth chart behind Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet.

Waived: CB Kyu Blu Kelly

The Seahawks had to waive somebody to make room for both McIntosh and Young and cornerback is where they are deepest. So, rookie Kyu Blu Kelly has been waived. If he clears waivers most likely he will end up on Seattle’s practice squad. However, Kelly was originally a fifth-round draft pick by the Ravens so he may be more enticing than the usual rookie who hits waivers midseason.

Elevated from practice squad: OT Jason Peters

The Seahawks also elevated old man Jason Peters from the practice squad again. With starting right tackle Abe Lucas still on injured reserve, Peters has been rotating snaps with Stone Forsythe at that spot. Neither has done particularly well the last couple weeks, but at least Washington can’t make them pay nearly as bad as Baltimore or Cleveland.
