According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, the Seahawks have re-signed running back Rashaad Penny to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million. Rapoport says he turned down more money from other teams.
Penny, 26, was selected by the Seahawks in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft out of San Diego State and has played all four seasons of his career in Seattle. The Seahawks declined to exercise the fifth-year option on Penny’s contract last May making him a free agent this spring.
Riding second-seat to running back Chris Carson through most of his career, Penny had a breakout season in 2021 and finished the year with 119 carries for 749 yards and six touchdowns.
