The Unite trade union has said it will be "discussing an industrial response" if Seagate attempts to impose compulsory redundancies on its workforce in Derry.
Workers at Seagate, one of Northern Ireland's largest employers in the manufacturing sector, were told in May over 100 jobs would be lost through redundancies as part of a "global restructuring".
The Unite trade union has now said redundancies have been proposed for "up to one third of production operatives" - a total in excess of 200 staff given the size of the more than 1,000 strong workforce.
