IFK Norrkoping are set to take their unpaid transfer case over the sale of Celtic star Sead Hakasbanovic to Rubin Kazan to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The 23-year-old completed his transfer to the Scottish Premiership champions in the summer after the Russian side reluctantly allowed their star man to join Ange Postecoglou 's amid contract issues following the invasion of Ukraine – just 12 months after signing him for £5.5million from the Swedish minnows. The Montenegro international reportedly moved for a cut-price fee in the region of £2.6million and has netted three goals so far this term for the Hoops since his move.
Following his move to Celtic, Norrokoping claimed they had yet to received £3.2million of the transfer fee that Rubin had originally agreed to pay them following Haksabanovic's move to the Russian Premier League last summer. Norrkoping chairman Sakarias Mardh has offered an update to supporters stating no further payments have been made by the Russian side following his move to Glasgow's east end.
Having already taken the issue to FIFA, the club chief was asked if any more cash had been paid any movement since Celtic's payment he told Swedish outlet NT: "We still have outstanding claims for the deal. We are now trying to get the last money in."
He confirmed the CAS were now involved as they looked to recoup the fee for Hakasbanovic. Mardh went on: "We continue to seek help from our lawyers to see if it can be resolved.
"It is up to FIFA and CAS to decide. I have great hope that we will get it right in those instances. It is a step in the right direction."
