Sead Haksabanovic Celtic injury assessment as Ange Postecoglou offers update amid mounting fitness woes

Ange Postecoglou has eased concerns over a major injury to Celtic's Sead Haksabanovic after the attacker was replaced during the Hibs showdown.

The Scottish Premiership champions were in relentless form as they saw off the Easter Road since in Glasgow's east end with James Forrest 's hat-trick, which took him to 100 goals for the club, Giorgios Giakoumakis and Daizen Maeda's late sixth at Celtic Park. Ellie Youan's low strike proving to be nothing more than a consolation for Hibs as Lee Johnson's side were brushed aside by Postecoglou's men.

However, fans were left with concerns over the Montenegro international after he failed to appear for the second half and was replaced by Maeda. With Callum McGregor, Jota, Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh all sidelined supporters were concerned over the growing list of absentees for the title race and going into Wednesday's Premier Sports Cup clash with Motherwell.

However, the Celtic boss insists the move to replace the forward was a precautionary measure, sighting an ankle knock picked up ahead of the victory. Postecoglou told Celtic TV after the final whistle: "He had a bit of an ankle issue going into the game but he was really keen to play. Once the game was sort of done we took him off after 45 minutes."
