‘Screaming woman’ was pet parrot

Police responding to a report of a screaming woman discovered the source of the worrying noise was actually a pet parrot. Steve Wood, 54, said he was initially confused when police showed up at his home in Canvey Island, Essex. “I thought, ‘Oh my god, what have I done?’’” he told BBC Essex. “I opened the door to two laughing police officers and they said, ‘Don’t worry mate, I think we’ve got this one sussed.’’” He said his parrots can be vocal and he’s “surprised” there hasn’t been such a mix-up previously.

Burger King launches ‘insane’ cheeseburger

Burger King has launched a burger in Thailand with no meat and 20 slices of cheese. The Thai operator of the fast food chain has introduced what it calls the “real cheeseburger”, saying on social media that “this is no joke, this is for real”. One customer said she “could only finish half of it”, adding that “this is an insane amount of cheese added into one burger”. Burger King’s menu in the country also includes salmon katsu burgers, noted CNN.

US venue tries to break drag record

A venue in Oregon is attempting to set a Guinness World Record by holding a drag show that lasts for a full 48 hours. The “Drag-a-thon” began on Monday afternoon at Darcelle XV Showplace and is scheduled to continue until Wednesday afternoon. It is featuring more than 60 drag queens and drag kings, including RuPaul’s Drag Race alums Eureka O’Hara, Lala Ri and Peppermint, noted UPI.
