Scousers who found fame after going viral and where they are now

With social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram allowing the "average Joe" to become famous overnight, it is no surprise that Scousers became involved.

Often life changing, going viral can also have its fair share of positive and negative outcomes.

From the rise of "The Queen of Scotty Road" to the fall of the "Banter Queen" the ECHO looks at their story and where they are now.

THE QUEEN OF SCOTTY ROAD:

The Queen of Scotty Road became an over night sensation on social media after a video of Phillip Regan went viral of him "being barred" from an off licence in his local area.

Coining the old Liverpool phrase in his comedy video Phillip said: "You know what I always say, times are hard and friends are few, not 'ta-ra' f******* to you".

Phillip has since produced a music single with the same title as his catchphrase, as well as a regular "agony aunt" spot on Graeme Smith's show on Capital FM.

Phillip told the ECHO: "I couldn’t believe it, I couldn't understand why I was getting looked at, at first.

"I was only going in [to the shop] to get vodka for the bingo, I know the girl behind the counter and asked her to video it for me.

"Within about ten minutes after I posted it, it went 1.5 million views, and by the Sunday it was five million."

He added: "Next minute my phone is going off, I didn't know what was happening, and from that day my life changed."

Phillip has said that it was "a bit scary at first" and that whilst on nights out in the city "sometimes bouncers had to be stood around" him due to the "amount of people who wanted photos".

The Queen of Scotty Road said: "I am so grateful, without these people who like and share my content, I wouldn't be where I am today.

"I have a single, an agony aunt spot on capital FM I have been doing since around October, I've been told the ratings have shot up since I started that."

He added: "Captial FM done a survey and I am the most talked about person in Liverpool.

"I have a big live event coming up based in Liverpool, I can't say much at the moment but details will come out soon."

JAMES FOLEY:

James Foley (James Foley)

James Foley first came onto our radar after a video became viral of him complaining about a phone repair shop in Liverpool.

James passionately describes his negative experience in the store and was shared far and wide over all social media platforms.

After this video James, and his now ex-partner Shaun, decided to "spread positivity" by creating "Jamesandshaunlovestory" on TikTok, making yet another famous video involving "spoons and forks".

Now having a go at influencing alone, James told the ECHO: " I had a split recently, I am doing what I am doing at the moment to spread love, there's still a lot of trolls though.

"I am there as a positive impact for creatives.

"I was v ery nervous when the first video went viral, it was actually almost a year after I recorded it that it went viral.

"I only filmed it as I didn't want them to get away with what they had done.

"It went viral on twitter first getting like 350k retweets, and then '2dogs' [the Instagram meme page] posted it and it went viral on Facebook and Instagram, everywhere really."

He added: "I had a lot of negativity at first, someone who was a verified account said something really hurtful on twitter which is why i try to stay away from that platform.

"But I overcame the negativity and found the positive aspects of having a lot of followers, and I am able to give happiness to people.

"I've started doing a lot of lives and making videos that are trending.

"I have a few brand deals and promotions within the city, cutting the ribbon for a beauty salon and stuff."

James added: "I work with a lot of people in the city now so its great, even people like the cast of Ru Paul's Drag Race have said they're a fan of me."

James is now on Instagram and TikTok and Instagram under James Influencer.

BANTER QUEEN:

Elsa Frost AKA Banter Dancing Queen (left) and Chelsey Harwood (right) (Liverpool Echo)

Elsa Frost was jailed for four and a half months in January, Frost proved particularly popular on TikTok, posting videos of her life in Birkenhead.

Labelling herself “Banter Queen”, her videos later included expletive-ridden rants focused on specific people with whom she had disagreements.

She eventually started feuding with Chelsey Harwood, who also has a large following on TikTok.

She was jailed after sending transphobic messages to web series "This Is Liverpool" star Chelsey Harwood.

It is unclear what started the feud between the two, with many of the videos shared by both women no longer online.
