THE principal of the University of Edinburgh has announced his departure amid five weeks of strikes at the institute after hundreds of staff members have been made redundant and 90 courses scrapped.
Principal professor Peter Mathieson announced on Monday that he will not seek a third term as leader of the university and will step down from the role by early 2028.
