Scottish takeaway in running to be crowned Restaurant of the Year

A SCOTTISH takeaway is in the running to be crowned the Restaurant of the Year. 

Uber Eats has named the best takeaways across the whole of the UK and Ireland with Big Manny’s in Aberdeen being picked as Scotland’s entry.

Known for its pizza, the takeaway is located just a couple of minutes away from Pittodrie Stadium – the home of Aberdeen FC.

In a post on its website, Uber Eats said: “Congratulations to the finalists of the Uber Eats Restaurant Awards 2023, who will now be invited to create their dishes for a panel of specialist judges including Prue Leith and Monica Galetti.

“The overall winner will be announced in October and will receive a £100,000 prize to invest in their restaurant, so stay tuned.”

The full list of entries across the UK included:

  • Big Manny’s – Scotland
  • Locke Burger – Ireland
  • Brorritos - London
  • LYFBAR – Midlands + East Anglia
  • Brack Burger – North East England
  • PICNIC – North West England
  • Seed – Northern Ireland
  • Natty’s Jerk Kitchen – South East
  • Sandwich Sandwich – South West
  • Haystack Café – Wales
