The Scottish schools with the highest Covid-19 outbreaks in the past six weeks have been named by Public Health Scotland.
The Daily Record told how 289,293 school pupils across Scotland had tested positive for Covid-19 since the pandemic started after a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.
Data from a Freedom of Information (FOI) request also showed which schools had the highest rates of infection in the last six weeks.
The Nicholson Institute in the Western Isles had the highest outbreak in recent weeks, with 63 infected as of the week ending March 13.
Hermitage Academy in Argyll and Bute and Largs Primary School in North Ayrshire were second and third highest with 55 and 52 of their pupils testing postive from February 20 to April 6.
A full breakdown of the 100 schools with the highest infections is available at the bottom of this article.
The data does not specify where the infection was acquired, or whether pupils were present in school at any point in their illness.
The FOI also showed that in the last six weeks there were 2,360 schools in Scotland with at least one pupil with Covid-19.
There are 5,052 schools in the country so one in every two schools had a pupil with the virus in the timeframe.
Across these 2,360 schools there were 58,685 pupils in Scotland returning positive tests in the last six weeks.
Schools in the north of Scotland and in Ayrshire have been the worst affected.
