Cheshire-based sustainable solutions provider RSK Group has acquired Loch Lomond-based renewable energy business Absolute Solar and Wind.
It will join RSK’s agriculture, land and property management division, under the direction of Ian Strudwick, but will continue to be led by Absolute director Tom Newall.
The deal - for an undisclosed sum - continued RSK's “strategic expansion”, with Absolute adding expertise in renewable energy design, installation and maintenance services for commercial and industrial renewable energy projects, primarily in the solar sector.
Established in 2007, the Scottish company's customers include Scottish Water, Edinburgh Airport, UK Research and Innovation and several local authorities.
It also designs, supplies, installations and maintenance of commercial photovoltaic solar panel systems, solar farms and wind turbines.
RSK chief executive and founder Alan Ryder said: “We are dedicated to increasing our service provision in this arena and to achieving carbon net zero - the sector offers a lot of opportunities for us to help our clients in their sustainability journeys and the acquisition of Absolute will open many doors for the group.
“With Absolute in the group, RSK will be able to take large-scale solar projects from site finding and planning and consents all the way through to design, installation and maintenance, offering a turnkey service to our clients.”
Newall added: “Joining RSK will enable Absolute to take its growth in the renewable energy sector to the next stage - becoming part of a bigger organisation will present many opportunities for the business and for our employees in terms of growth and development.
“I am confident that together we can really make a difference for the environment and for our clients.”
