The mother of a young Scottish motorcyclist who died following a head-on crash involving a vehicle on Monday said her "heart has been torn to pieces."
Jamie Murdoch, 29, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene following the collision with a VW Golf on the Q67 near Kingsettle, around 4:35pm on Monday, November 28.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the biker, from Methilm, could not be saved. The 51-year-old driver of the VW was uninjured in the incident. The Record reports that Jamie was working at Amazon and was travelling home from work when the accident happened. His mum Sharon Young says she will "never get over his death."

Sharon wrote: "My heart has been ripped out my chest and torn into pieces. I never thought I would ever feel pain like this. My youngest son Jamie was in a serious accident on his way home from work last night he died at the scene." She added: "I love you more than words can say, I will never get over this."
Jamie's partner Kerry Sneddon said: "Today was the hardest part of my life. Ten whole years we have been through our ups and downs, we always came out stronger. I can't believe I am writing this, in loving memory of Jamie.
"I will never forget you and what you have done for me through the 10 years we were together. Now it is my turn to be there for everyone. Gone, but you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again. Love you always."
Rabby Redpath said: "Jamie's always been a good mate, he was just at mine last week too speaking about his bike. RIP Jamie Murdoch bro."
Sharriena Birrell said: "Jamie was such a nice young boy, can't believe it." Angela Burt added: "Jamie was a good guy and I was proud to have known him. RIP Jamie."
Sergeant Colin Morrison said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, who has not yet spoken to police, to get in touch.
"Any small piece of information could prove vital in our ongoing enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision. I would appeal to anyone with dash cam equipment to get in touch as it could hold images which could assist in our investigation."
