Scottish ministers will not appeal court ruling on trans prisoners, Swinney says

Transgender prisoners are to be placed in jails according to their biological sex, with inmates being moved on Tuesday as the Scottish Government confirmed it would not appeal a legal ruling.

Judge Lady Ross last week ruled the prison guidance, which saw inmates placed in custody in line with their acquired gender, was “unlawful”.
