Scottish man rushed to hospital after huge three-car smash during early morning

A man has been rushed to hospital and several cars have been left heavily damaged after a three-car smash in Fife.

The Daily Record reports that the incident occurred yesterday, April 23, on Robert Adam Drive, Kirkcaldy, as emergency services rushed to the scene amid reports of a white car careering into two parked vehicles.

The call was received by officers at around 7:20am and images from the scene show a white car with an 'L' plate completely destroyed at the front and sitting horizontal across the road.

The car appears to have collided with a black Vauxhall motor, as images show the front end of that vehicle also heavily damaged.

Meanwhile an image of a red car was shared online with its bonnet and bumper ripped off.

One fire engine, fire officers and a number of police officers are seen patrolling the area which is covered in debris from all three motors.

At around 10.30am police confirmed that one man, the driver of the white vehicle, is in hospital with injuries that are believed to be minor.

The man's age and the hospital he was taken to were not disclosed by police.

Officers said that another man, the passenger of the white car, walked away with no injuries.

A spokeswoman told the Record: "We were called to reports of a three-car crash on Robert Adam Drive at 7.20am.

"A white car crashed into two parked cars at the scene.

"Officers attended, as of 10.15am the roadway was clear.

Meanwhile fire crews told the Record they were asked to attend by ambulance chiefs to 'help make the area safe'.

Fire crews stated 'a couple of people' had been injured but advised the Daily Record to go to the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) for confirmation.

A spokeswoman said: "We got call from the ambulance service at 7.27 reporting an road traffic accident in the area involving two vehicles.

"No persons were trapped in any vehicles.

"There were a couple of casualties, the Scottish Ambulance Service will have confirmation of this.

"We were called to help make the scene safe."

The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
