Scottish health professionals have shared a monkeypox update as another case was confirmed on June 1.
The latest case brings the total number of confirmed cases reported since 23 May to five.
Following the update, Public Health Scotland (PHS) have confirmed any additional cases of monkeypox will be published on the PHS monkeypox page.

The individuals who have the viral illness are receiving care and treatment appropriate to their condition in line with nationally agreed protocols and guidance.
Any close contacts of the cases are being identified and provided with health information, advice and, where appropriate, vaccine.
Public Health Scotland have been working closely with NHS Boards across the country and other partners to raise awareness of the disease and ensure services are ready to respond.

Monkeypox is a viral infection only recently detected in the UK.
It is generally a mild self-limiting illness, spread by very close contact with someone already infected and with symptoms of monkeypox. Most people recover within a few weeks.
