Scottish Government rules environmental report needed for Edinburgh AI data centre

THE Scottish Government has ruled a full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is required for an AI data centre on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The Planning and Environmental Appeals Division ruled that the site would "be likely to have a significant effect on the environment", and therefore a full assessment is required before the developer's appeal can continue.
