The Scottish Government has confirmed one coronavirus death was reported in Tayside in the last 24 hours.
The area's death toll - composed of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - rises to 826.
Data from Public Health Scotland also shows that 309 new cases were recorded overnight in the region.
In total, Tayside has recorded 78,975 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
The latest local vaccination data shows that 91.2% of people across Tayside have had at least one jag, 85.9% have received at least two, while 68.7% have also received a third, or booster, vaccination.
Across the country, 7,258 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the last day.
There were 16 Covid-confirmed deaths reported meaning the country's overall death toll from the virus rises to 10,291.
There are currently 1,302 people in Scotland's hospitals being treated for covid with 32 in intensive care.
The figures come as two changes were made to Scotland’s Covid restrictions as the country continues to battle its way through the Omicron wave of the virus.
Nicola Sturgeon addressed MSPs at Holyrood on the state of the pandemic in Scotland on Tuesday afternoon.
Social distancing measures were reduced from two metres to one in indoor settings where people have a specific exemption from the need to wear a face covering - such as those leading religious services or carrying out receptionist duties.
Adults taking part in organised activities for children will no longer be required to wear a face covering when they are directly interacting with kids under the age of five.
The First Minister said that change to latter of these rules will be of benefit to younger children and to those working with them.
Sturgeon announced that restrictions on working in the office will be eased from Monday, January 31.
