A SCOTTISH city that "never sleeps" has been named one of the best in Europe for a night out.
Glasgow was named among the 50 best on the continent, with spots like Paris and Madrid making the top 10.
Scotland's largest city has long been a popular location for those looking for a good night out, holding its own against a number of world-famous cities.
Mattress Next Day said certain places are often referred to as "the city that never sleeps".
Discussing the findings, the researchers over atTo help travellers find out where that "rings true", the firm said that it looked at cities around the world to create an index of the busiest 24-hour party cities, ranking them on clubs, public transport, Google search volume for parties, and more."
Glasgow named one of the best cities in Europe for a night out
Glasgow, which was named one of the best places in Europe for a night out, was found to be home to a high number of nightclubs with 196 late-night events currently scheduled for the coming weeks and months.
In terms of overall safety, the Scottish city was given high marks with it doing better than cities named in the top 10 with a score of 54.68 out of 100.

Looking at the overall ratings for hotels and restaurants in the city, the experts were able to find a high number of well-rated establishments.
Around 52% of hotels across Glasgow are rated four stars or higher with around 49% of restaurants in the city having an average rating of four or higher.
With nightclubs, hotels and restaurants located across the city, there is no shortage of places to go to make that night out all the better.
