Scottish brewery launches new beer as part of deal with supermarket

A SCOTTISH brewery has launched a new beer as part of Aldi Scotland’s Scottish Beer Festival.

The long-standing festival aims to celebrate the very best of Scottish beer and this year features five returning favourites alongside the exclusive launch of Innis & Gunn’s brand-new Tequila Cask Blonde beer.

Launching in Edinburgh in 2003, Innis & Gunn is one of the UK’s most successful premium beer brands.

The new beer is matured using specially selected real tequila casks while a number of other products will also feature in the festival, including:

  • Loch Lomond Brewery Only Happy When It Rains IPA
  • Broughton Ales Bring Out the Imp!
  • Loch Lomond Brewery Helles Glen Pilsner
  • West Brewery Velo Radler
  • Cold Town Citrus DJPA

Managing director of Aldi Scotland Richard Holloway commented: “We’re very pleased to be the first UK supermarket to bring Innis & Gunn’s Tequila Cask Blonde beer to market.

“The craft beer industry continues to thrive in Scotland, while tequila has seen a rapid rise in popularity, so I’m sure this will be a huge hit with customers.

“Our Scottish Beer Festival is always a highlight, and this exclusive launch represents our ongoing commitment to supporting Scottish breweries, while offering customers the opportunity to sample locally produced, top-quality brews at everyday prices.”
