AUGUSTA: This was snakes and ladders at its best. But Scottie Scheffler seems to have mastered even that, even if the board here was the Augusta National Golf Club, where the world's best are battling for the 88th Masters.
Scheffler (71) slipped, rose again, and closed with a fine birdie on an action-packed back nine to take sole lead ahead after 54 holes. Scheffler was one behind after 18 holes; shared a three-way lead after 36; and now holds it alone after 54 with Collin Morikawa (69) one behind.
