Scottie Scheffler has been on an absolute heater over the past six weeks and now, after his victory Sunday at the WGC Match Play, he is the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world.
How hot has he been over that stretch? He picked up his first PGA Tour win in February at the Phoenix Open. Then he picked up his second victory a few weeks later at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. And now he has his first WGC title after beating Kevin Kisner 4&3 in Sunday’s championship match.
Just an incredible stretch of golf for the 25-year-old Scheffler, who also had a strong showing in the Ryder Cup last fall.
After Sunday’s win he shared a hug with his father, who told his son: “I’m more proud of who you are than your golf.”
