Scott Wright scores winner on Birmingham debut after Rangers exit

This is the moment Scott Wright started his post-Rangers career in outstanding fashion.

The winger scored a 91st-minute winner on his Birmingham City debut against Wigan Athletic this afternoon.

The 27-year-old scored with a fantastic strike on his left, high into the roof of the net, giving the keeper no chance, just one day after he left the Scottish Premiership to sign a three-year deal at St Andrews.

He joined former Ibrox teammates Ben Davies as Birmingham continued their strong start to the season under the guidance of former Celtic assistant, Chris Davies.

He's raided Scottish football this summer with the additions of Wright, Davies, Tomoki Iwata and Alex Cochrane.

To the disgust of many in the game, they also splashed out £10m on Jay Stanfield from Fulham.

It's a dream start for Wright, who stole the headlines from Stanfield, as he slammed the ball into the net at close range to send the packed-out crowd wild.

Meanwhile, Philippe Clement has provided an injury update on his Rangers squad ahead of tomorrow's Old Firm derby.

The Ibrox side make the short journey across Glasgow tomorrow lunchtime to face arch-rivals Celtic in the first meeting between the sides in the Scottish Premiership this season.

And it's good news in terms of squad selection for the Belgian, with the majority of his squad fit and ready to go.

Ridvan Yilmaz remains out, but everyone else is back available, including Oscar Cortes, who is back in training.

The manager did provide an update on his deadline day signings, saying: "Nedim Bajrami paperwork is not fully completed, so will not be available. Neraysho Kasanwirjo is an option for selection but has had limited time to train."
