Scott Wright's Rangers departure falls apart over 'costs' claims Pendikspor boss

Scott Wright's move to Turkey appears to be in tatters after the Pendikspor coach was quoted saying it didn't happen due to "costs".

Osman Ozkoylu blamed the entrance of the Saudi SPL as having skewed the market, leaving players demanding higher wages.

And he revealed four deals have fallen through as European football is tipped on its axis by the financial clout on offer in the middle east.

Speaking on Radyospor and quoted by Milliyet, the coach said: "Our transfer efforts continue.

"We will make four or five reinforcements. Unfortunately, every player we talk to wants high wages.

"They also consider the Saudi Arabian factor.

"We agreed in principle with Adrien Silva, he came to Istanbul.

"However, he did not come back after making various excuses. We had mutual problems with Silva, we gave up on the transfer because he did not come on the date we bought the tickets.

"The transfers of Bafetimbi Gomis, Modeste and Scott Wright did not happen due to their costs."
