Scott Wright Rangers transfer exit ruled out by boss Michael Beale

Scott Wright will not leave Rangers this summer with Michael Beale all but ruling out a transfer exit.

The winger, 26, was set for a switch to Tukish side Pendikspor but the deal collapsed.

The club blamed "costs" for the move failing to be finalised despite Wright and Beale having openly discussed the possibility.

Now, however, Wright will remain at Rangers "for the foreseeable future" unless anything "changes".

Wright is included in the Champions League squad list for Rangers and featured off the bench against Servette.

And it appears he could come back into the fold at Rangers after the move to Turkiye fell through.

Speaking at today's press conference, Beale said: "Scott Wright is a Rangers player for the foreseeable until anything changes."

Pendikspor coach Osman Ozkoylu said of the collapsed deal: "Our transfer efforts continue.

"We will make four or five reinforcements. Unfortunately, every player we talk to wants high wages.

"They also consider the Saudi Arabian factor.

"We agreed in principle with Adrien Silva, he came to Istanbul.

"However, he did not come back after making various excuses. We had mutual problems with Silva, we gave up on the transfer because he did not come on the date we bought the tickets.

"The transfers of Bafetimbi Gomis, Modeste and Scott Wright did not happen due to their costs."

Speaking ahead of the failed move to Pendikspor, Wright had said: "It gives me a chance to go and play regular football, I've had conversations with Michael Beale about playing more and we came to the conclusion that it was maybe best for me to move on.

"The clubs have agreed a fee and I'll go have a look and see what I think."
